"I take it, run with it and see what I can achieve."
I moved on to the Alliance project in September, after 2 years with GHD. As a Civil Engineer I started in Roads and then joined Rail, and I知 currently responsible for designing the maintenance access road for the rail project. It uses all my experience.
The atmosphere on the project is really positive. Working in a relatively small team, with everyone on site, we get to know people a lot better. Just being able to approach other Alliance members directly is invaluable. It helps to get things done.
Overall, this is a different challenge from what I知 used to, especially working on one job rather than multiple projects. I always know what I知 working on, and even though we focus on one project there痴 still lots of variety in the role. I知 getting to see lots of aspects of the project that I wouldn稚 normally and enjoying the challenge of learning something new - which happens a lot. When I get an opportunity to learn, I like to take it, run with it and see what I can achieve. Once I知 finished here, I壇 like to think I値l have a solid background that would let me take a more senior role in the future.
