I’m a third year grad, working towards my chartered status as an engineer and this is my first year with KBR and the Alliance.

Having moved from a mining project, I had to get up to speed quickly and started on preliminary design for the drainage across the entire project corridor. I’m now on the detailed design of the drainage for Logan-Medway interchange. In the long-term, I’ll have the chance to focus on other areas, so there’s variety as well as the security of the ongoing project.

As a grad the Alliance offers me great opportunities and I get to bring different skills to the project. It’s a completely new way of working. Getting to know people from other companies, and working with experts, I can learn from them, draw on their expertise and apply it to what I work on. It’s a chance to develop and specialise. I’m also helped out on the graduate development program my mentors at both KBR and Horizon.

Looking to the future, with a lot more of the infrastructure projects moving towards a collaborative method of delivery, working on this large-scale prestigious project will demonstrate my skill and ability to succeed.
