Since July I’ve been with the Alliance, working on procurement and planning for this large and complex project.

It’s very different from previous projects; the industry has really changed. Alliance projects seem to be the way things are moving and I can understand why. People from the different organisations in the Alliance have time to share their thoughts and experiences and so we’re all learning a lot. Just being able to work closely with urban designers has made a big difference to the way I approach projects. Also having the backing of the Govt and Queensland Rail makes for good purchasing power.

When it comes to looking after people on the project, they’ve thought of everything. This is probably the biggest difference – the Alliance really focuses on looking after us. There’s an extremely high level of support and as far as I’m concerned, there are no limits to the opportunities here. The harder you push, the further you’ll go.
