John - Project Definition Team

John

"Everybody benefits from an accelerated learning environment."

"The chance to work on an integrated road and rail project is a great opportunity."

Throughout my career I’ve been involved in setting up and managing large infrastructure projects. I arrived at The Horizon Alliance in February 2007, working as Project Definition Manager.

My working day finds me heading up and managing the project definition team. It’s my job to liaise with senior managers from the design, construction and estimating parts of the business. I also interact with the ALT, co-ordinating and implementing the strategic direction set to the project.

Straight away the thing that hits you about the Alliance is the breadth of talented and capable people here. There’s such a cross-section of skills, and thanks to the terrific attitude everyone has it makes for an extremely satisfying working environment.

It was the challenge that initially drew me to the Alliance. The chance to work on an integrated road and rail project is a great opportunity, and one that I’m looking forward to being part of.

The high calibre of people I work alongside, as well as the exposure to both forms of major infrastructure makes the Alliance so appealing. And because of the diversity of skills that exist here, everybody benefits from an accelerated learning environment.
