I graduated with a double degree in Engineering and Commerce and joined KBR in Melbourne, 5 years ago. Then in June I became part of the Horizon Alliance and they helped my to move up to Queensland. From starting in Road and Rail Design and Project Management, my role has now diversified and is extremely exciting. As Alliance Leadership Team Executive Support Officer I help to implement the Board’s initiatives across the Alliance. On top of that I’m also finalising design management and ensuring we have a specialised, alliance-wide QA.

With us all working together in the same office it’s a good vibe. We’ve all got a common goal and there’s a real group dynamic. I get to interact with client representatives, designers and constructers and that means we can all share ideas.

Compared to other projects, I’m getting much more exposure, for example to the construction aspect of the project. I can soak up all the knowledge that’s available, draw on others’ experience and will be able to apply this. Having experience of how such a large-scale project is planned and delivered is a real bonus for me. It will leave me confident enough to take on projects myself in the future.
