Engaging our communities
Motivated by our vision - Inspired people, leading the industry in delivering integrated infrastructure for our community - The Horizon Alliance is driven to strengthen links with the local community we serve through creative and mutually beneficial initiatives.
Thinking beyond business as usual, the Darra to Springfield Transport Corridor (DSTC) Project has identified opportunities for community input and corporate sponsorship, which have included:
- a 10 metre long tiled mosaic produced by local school students and community groups for the Springfield Link bridge – the first construction milestone to be completed by Horizon
- delivering two modified vehicle to the Princess Alexandra Hospital’s Spinal Injuries Unit, developed in conjunction with local school students and businesses
- a Christmas tree giveaway to the local community, in support of The Smith Family’s Christmas Appeal raising nearly $1,000 and a whole host of toys
- ongoing support through staff donations to the Red Hill Special School via staff fundraising for the purchase of a Banana Keyboard which enables people with disabilities to access the world of music, and the Western Suburbs Special School via cash donation to help with the purchase of school equipment
- annual participation in Clean up Australia Day and other environmental initatives
- working with our suppliers and local businesses to help with a much needed renovation of the ‘Our Place’ community facility in Inala working with the local community to develop community artwork areas for the new Richlands railway station and surrounding precinct
